Elevated West African Spices
Suya spice is a unique blend of seasonings that is perfect for any barbecued meat. We wanted to evoke a premium African feel by choosing just the right colour palette and typography.
Retailers who previously dismissed the product were eager to stock this once they saw the updated packaging.
CLIENT: GIFTED CULINARIAN
Syrian Dried Fruit Packaging Design
With their arrival to Canada in 2019, the owners of Queen's Diamond were keen to introduce dried fruits and nuts from their native country of Iran. We kept to a look and feel that evoked the nuances of their culture but kept it feeling contemporary with a saturated colour palette.
The work included a refresh of the Queen’s Diamond logo, packaging design, label design, and a landing page on Squarespace.
CLIENT: YAM FOODS
Togo inspired Seasoning Blends
Food entrepreneur Nadia is proud of her heritage and its strong roots in food preparation and is keen to share these flavours with her new North American home.
We developed a visual identity behind the name “Tchtchinga”, which means barbecue, and then produced a tasty line-up of seasoning blends with bold colours and graphics.

Disparate products with a unified look
The Harvest Pantry came to me because, although satisfied with the design of their current labels from a technical perspective, the design wasn’t doing anything to jump off the all-important retail shelves.
As the ethnic product industry grows, it becomes more and more important to be highly visible to new customers.
I created a template that was easy to implement across various products and ethnic origins. The result has loads of personality and presence yet still keeps a unified look.
I also created a label series for their sauerkraut and kimchi product line
CLIENT: THE HARVEST PANTRY
Dutch-inspired Cider Packaging
Drawing from the Dutch heritage of the owners, we focused on creating a unique and visually appealing design that reflected the high quality and artisanal nature of this cider product line.
Using inspiration from Dutch typography and folk art, we were able to create a very unique design system.
CLIENT: GREAT LAKES FARMS
We are a food and beverage branding agency for ethnic food companies.
Our services are for companies who want to get their great-tasting ethnic brand into the hands of a mainstream audience.
At Eye Candy, we want to put an end to the “ethnic aisle” of every grocery store, because North Americans have been eating a variety of cultural foods for decades now!
We focus on people who want to get clear on their target market and understand the importance of strong packaging design.
We promise that people who engage with our services will see new customers and retailers added to their list!
