Eye Candy is an independent CPG design studio, working with first-shelf launches and established lines alike.
Whether you're building recognition from scratch or protecting equity you've spent years earning, you get senior-led design that understands the retail reality your product actually lives in.
We work with food and beverage brands who want to lead their category and want a design partner who respects their time, their operations, and the relationships they've already built with retail.
We have deep roots in ethnic and heritage food brands, rewriting the 'exotic' narrative so these products feel at home in any aisle. It's a specialty we're known for, not the limit of what we do.
We operate in an agriculturally rich region, and live directly beside wonderful producers so we understand what it takes to make great tasting food.
Finally, we are also in the business of saving time, so we focus on direct communication, plenty of collaboration, and quick turnarounds.
We make it the opposite of overwhelming.
With over 19 years in the industry, I build and strengthen your food brand through packaging design and visual identity. My favourite foods are carnitas, kimchi and tiramisu. Learn more about Amanda DeVries>
“This ... feels really close to being distinctively Indonesian without being too literal, striking a nice balance between tradition and modern - and that’s exactly what we were hoping for.
Really appreciate the work you’ve put into this - you’ve really captured the essence beautifully, especially without having been to the country, which is honestly impressive! ”
“...the new product we launched, which Eye Candy Design was instrumental in designing the packaging for, has *recouped the total cost of the design investment in three months of sales*. In my opinion, this is directly linked to the look and clever format of the packaging.”
“Working with Amanda is a breeze. She is organized and thoughtful, and puts so much effort into creating the right design.
Thank you for taking the brand story and bringing it to life through your creative design.”
FAQ
-
We primarily collaborate with food and beverage brands building for scale, full brand systems and multi-SKU packaging portfolios, from lines of a handful of SKUs to established manufacturers managing 30+ across multiple retailers. That's where our process does its best work. We take on smaller single-SKU projects selectively, based on availability.
We’ve also worked with hospitality, lifestyle, and cosmetic brands who align with our values and style.
-
Timelines depend on scope and complexity. A focused packaging refresh moves quickly; a full brand system across a multi-SKU portfolio is a deeper engagement measured in months. Regulatory factors such as bilingual requirements, nutrition panels, front-of-pack labelling get built into the schedule from day one. We'll map a realistic timeline against your retail deadlines before anything starts.

From farmgate to retail
Though made in Ontario, this brand evokes the nostalgia of British comfort foods through cozy, unpolished packaging that feels both familiar and wholesome. Drawing on Scottish and rural cues, the new packaging balances warmth and trust with quiet confidence.
Gender-neutral and Cliche-Free
We developed the branding and packaging for Tide Treats, a protein bar designed for people sick of chalky, flavourless energy snacks. Rooted in empathy, the brand pairs a confident yet friendly identity with a portion-conscious, protein-rich product that feels purposeful, satisfying, and refreshingly free of wellness clichés.
